Jio Platforms IPO Gets Massive Investor Response, Attracts ₹7.41 Lakh Crore in Bids
New Delhi: Reliance Industries-backed Jio Platforms has received an extraordinary response from investors following the closure of its initial public offering (IPO) on October 23, 2026.
The ₹30,213-crore public issue attracted bids worth around ₹7.41 lakh crore, according to market reports. The IPO was subscribed more than 22 times overall, reflecting strong demand across investor categories.
Over 1.3 Crore Applications
The Jio Platforms IPO reportedly received more than 13.8 million applications during the three-day subscription period.
The response has made the offering one of the most closely watched IPOs in India's recent stock-market history. The number of applications also surpassed the previous record associated with Reliance Power's 2008 IPO, according to Reuters.
Strong Institutional Interest
Institutional investors showed particularly strong demand for the issue. The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) portion was subscribed multiple times over, while retail investors also placed bids above the shares reserved for them.
Jio Platforms had fixed the IPO price band at ₹1,065–₹1,119 per share.
What Happens After the IPO?
With the subscription window now closed, investors will be watching the next stages of the IPO process, including share allotment and the expected stock-market listing.
The shares are scheduled to be listed on the NSE and BSE, subject to the applicable IPO timetable and regulatory processes.
The strong response to the issue highlights investor interest in Jio's position in India's telecom and digital-services ecosystem. However, a heavily subscribed IPO does not guarantee that the stock will rise after listing.
Investors should review the company's official disclosures and understand the risks involved before making any investment decision.
